Principal Investigator
 | Dr Tawfique Hasan is a Reader in Nanomaterials Engineering at the Cambridge Graphene Centre, Cambridge University Engineering Department and leads the group. He is also the Deputy Head of Electrical Engineering. In addition, Dr Hasan is the Deputy Director for Teaching and Training of the Centre for Doctoral Training in Graphene Technology. He gained his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cambridge in 2009. He also has an MEng. in Analog Microelectronics from University of New South Wales, Australia. Hasan got his BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the Islamic University of Technology, Bangladesh in 2001. Dr. Hasan has held several research positions in the University since his PhD, including a Junior Research Fellowship in King's College, Cambridge, a National Science Foundation China Foreign Young Scientist Research Fellowship and a Royal Academy of Engineering Research Fellowship to work on graphene based flexible and printable devices. The latter contributed to the foundation of Cambridge Graphene Limited, which was acquired by Versarian Plc in 2017. Tawfique also co-founded a second startup with other HNE members, Inkling Cambridge Limited which develops functional coatings and composites. He is an Associate Editor of Electronics Letters and an Editorial Board Member of Scientific Reports. He is also a Title A Fellow and a Director of Studies in Engineering in Churchill College, Cambridge.   |
Post Doctoral Researchers, Fellows and Visitors
 | Dr Leonard Ng got his PhD from the HNE group in 2019. During his PhD, Leonard worked on highly conductive graphene inks and composites and authored a book on functional inks of 2D materials. Before joining the group, he received his Bachelors from the Singapore Management University, Singapore and Masters from the University of Leeds, UK. Leonard currently holds a prestigious Royal Academy of Engineering Enterprise Fellowship. He is spearheading commercialisation of a high-performance coating technology that he developed during his PhD. |
 | Dr Doo-Seung Um joined the HNE group as a National Research Fellow (NRF) from Korea in 2018. Prior to joining our group, Um also worked at Samsung Electro-Mechanics. Um gained his PhD degree in energy engineering at the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), South Korea in 2017. At UNIST, he worked on transfer printing of nanomaterials for a wide range of novel and functional devices. Um obtained his Masters and bachelors degrees in electrical and electronic engineering from the Chung-Ang University, South Korea. His research is currently focused on 2D functional devices by using inkjet printing process. |
 | Dr Junzong Feng joined the group as a visiting academic fellow in 2019 from National University of Defense Technology (NUDT), China. He received his BSc, MD, and PHD degrees from NUDT, majoring in Materials Science and Engineering. Junzong has over 10 years of research experience on nanoporous aerogels and their composites. During his visit to Cambridge, he is attempting to inkjet print aerogels for high performance light absorption layers. |
